After months of collaboration with one of Chatham County’s Senior Transportation Engineers, the installation of nine speed humps in Pin Point has officially been completed. The project, which began in May 2024, and was officially completed in early November 2024. The initiative was driven by concerns over frequent speeding and through traffic, which had become a growing issue for our residents. In response to these concerns, the neighborhood worked closely with the county to address the problem. Through going through the process of gathering signatures, completing paperwork, and a few weeks of traffic monitoring it was determined that the installation of speed humps would be the chosen solution to slow vehicles down and increase pedestrian safety. Residents have already expressed appreciation for the changes, noting a reduction in the speed of passing cars. With the speed humps now in place, Pin Point is experiencing a safer, quieter environment. This project marks a positive step in making the neighborhood a more secure and enjoyable place to live.
This effort is part of a broader initiative led by the CEAR Hub in collaboration with the Pin Point Betterment Association, working together to identify and implement community-led solutions and improve quality of life for residents in the Pin Point community.
